In The Garden Today
Ever since I was a child I have loved picking flowers from the garden. In every garden I've had, even in the tiny one right in the city in Sydney, I have always planted something I can cut and bring indoors. I love the casual style of garden flowers in a vase.
Today I am heading out into the garden to do some much needed autumn maintenance. The roses are looking gorgeous - a last flush before the cooler weather comes. My vegetable garden, however, is totally out of control after the heat and rain of the past few months. My Tahitian lime tree is overdue to be harvested and I'm looking forward to filling a bowl full of fruit in every shade of lime.

Oh I am so jealous! It is barely spring here and things won't grow for another 2 months. I would love some fresh fruit or flowers right now.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great image! I am the same as you - One of the first things I did when I moved to my home was to plant around 20 or so Icebergs along the front fence so I new I'd always have a nice display but also enough to bring in - which I did this morning - I have a couple of bunches on the mantle.
ReplyDeleteGardening can be hard work but it's so rewarding, isn't it?
It is such hard work - especially when you have more than one job or business to run plus a family! My kitchen garden just gets feral when I'm busy but there is always something there to throw into a salad. I eventually get back to it, tidy it up and plant the next lot of seedlings.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful array of flowers!
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous! Flowers always make me smile!

ReplyDeleteDo you mean the garden in the post after this one? I wish it were mine but it belongs to Stuart Rattle.
